Czech Online Expo 2025 is behind us, and we are leaving with plenty of new contacts, inspiration, and valuable insights. Two days filled with discussions, lectures, and meetings with people shaping the e-commerce world showed us where the industry is heading and what technologies are driving the market.
At our booth, visitors could try VR glasses and an interactive prototype of a virtual house, where they could modify colors, dimensions, and interior elements in a simulated environment. We demonstrated how virtual reality can assist in planning construction and interiors.

Does investing in a mobile app make sense?
At the Expo, we also hosted a talk titled "I Want a Mobile App! But What For?" Vašek Martin and Marek Kodr tackled the essential question: When does a mobile app pay off, and how should you prepare for its development? If an app lacks a clear purpose and added value for users, it can easily become an expensive experiment.
Android or iOS or other platforms?
Most of the market belongs to Android, but iPhone users are willing to pay significantly more for apps. That’s why companies often target iOS first when planning monetization. On the other hand, Android reaches a broader audience and enables faster adoption among users.
Technology: How to Build an App?
There are several approaches to app development:
- Native development (Swift for iOS, Kotlin for Android) – highest performance but also the highest cost.
- Multiplatform solutions (Kotlin Multiplatform and other frameworks) – shares code between platforms and speeds up development. The time you save can then be put into better quality testing of the application or its design.
If long-term growth is your priority, native development is the safest bet. If you’re looking for an efficient solution for both platforms, a multiplatform approach might be the right choice.
MVP: Launch Quickly or Wait for Perfection?
MVP (minimum viable product) means releasing a basic version of the app as soon as possible, gathering user feedback, and expanding functionalities based on it. It’s a smart way to save time and money while avoiding the development of features that users might not even need.
App Approval: What to Watch Out For?
App approval in the App Store or Google Play is not immediate and not automatic. Google focuses on security and data access, while Apple requires a high-quality user experience and Apple Pay support for paid features. The process can take several days, but if the app does not pass review, it can extend to weeks.
Users Have High Expectations. How Not to Lose Them?
Launching an app is just the beginning – in fact, the real work starts afterward. Users don’t forgive slow performance, bugs, or confusing navigation. If they don’t like something, they will delete the app and never return. The key to success are regular actualizations, improvements and listening to user feedback.
Long-Term Care = Loyal Customers
Apps must grow alongside their users. Regular updates, feature improvements, and strong communication with customers are crucial to keeping the app functional and competitive. Companies that actively engage with their users build loyalty and create long-term successful products.
Czech Online Expo was a fantastic opportunity to connect with new people and share experiences. Our talk confirmed that the success of a mobile app is not just about technology but about strategy and understanding user needs.
